You can live in beautiful Savannah, keep the community safe, and maybe even help preserve the history of the city by working in the environmental job industry.

Job Description

Year round, there are requests for emergency responses to accidental material spills which could be harmful to the environment. These requests are answered by a dispatcher who immediately directs experienced, environmental workers to the site.

These requests most often include spills on highways, railways and waterways. In removing the spill, environmental workers rid of the pollution and contamination that has infected the ground water, surface water and soil.

Spills can include oil, hazardous and non-hazardous sludge, chemicals or products and so much more. Depending on the material spilled, and the severity of the situation, you and your team would determine what the best course-of-action would be.

Different environmental remediation methods use a variety of tools that you would get to learn how to use. Also, you would have the opportunity to build a better understanding as to how pollution can have an impact on your entire community.

By removing these contaminates, you are bringing the environment back to its previous state, and protecting the health of those living in the area.
