Those who repair heating, air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation systems are most commonly referred to as HVAC technicians. If you are familiar with electronic systems, such as computers, you could qualify for HVAC jobs in Savannah, which is in an increasingly large occupation. The Bureau of Labor Statistics suggests that before 2022, HVAC employment can grow more than 21 percent.

Job Description

These kinds of technicians can work in a number of different areas, from homes to schools to hospitals and more. If you were to be an HVAC technician, it is no doubt that you would get to work in varying locations, performing maintenance on a variety of machinery.

Long-term, on-the-job training will teach you how to install and repair HVAC systems. You will also connect these systems to the proper fuel and water supplies, if need be. Oftentimes, HVAC technicians will install wiring and run tests for electrical components. You will have the knowledge and the ability to inspect defective HVAC systems and repair what needs to be fixed.

There is also the opportunity to specialize in specific kinds of HVACR equipment, like solar panels or commercial refrigeration. These types of technicians use a larger number of more sophisticated tools than that of an HVAC technician. Either way, you are provided with the training you need in order to be successful in this field.
